Is This The Change You Wanted In The Last Election

HH, me too, trying to find a middle ground as well. I voted for Obama and I put up with it. Now he is talking about taking away SS or cutting back, now, that just don't fly with me.

I feel for you all and all we can do is to hope and wait for the next promise that would be broken later.

Our government officials should be ashamed that most of the country feels this way. It didn't used to be like that. It appears we trust no one anymore. Well, I trust my neighbor with the PROTECTED BY THE SECOND AMENDMENT sign.....

What is hilarious about what Governor Brown did is that while citizens lost benefits, and schools were cut; he still found time to ensure that illegal aliens received college grants, the police, and prison guards kept their six figure salaries and retirements; that the pension spiking that enable some government retirees to receive as much in pension as they did in salary was retained, and more programs to benefit non-citizens were funded.

I didn't vote for Jerry, nor for Arnie, nor for McCain, nor for Obama. I'm just sitting here and LMAO watching when people who didn't research voting records, past political connections, lobbiest links, etc. stand around and express astonishment at what has happened to this country. It's really sad; sad that although we have the vote we toss it away on those who talk a great deal and say nothing - in the current round Obama is back, McCain isn't, Cain, Romney, and Trump are up. I still think that everyone needs to look into Dr. Paul because he is literally the ONLY candidate who has a grasp of both foreign policy and economics.

Ahem.... Halliburton received no-bid contracts because the Clinton administration created a list of contractors who would be called on in times of alleged "emergency" without submitting bids. The Bushies inherited it.

I find the Murdoch network no more offensive than Rachel Maddow or Amy Goodman. If it weren't for FBN, CBS and Katie Couric would have never revealed the "Operation Fast and Furious" story and we'd all still be in the dark. Those who listen to ABC and NBC or have local papers that are really shopping guides are still in the dark.

The main emotional blackmail aimed at women that I've ever seen is the endless wailing about evil somebody or other banning abortions. Then again, being female, I tend to see most of the emotional blackmail stuff as being aimed at men. BT, Mobil, Chevron, and Halliburton all *do* pay taxes - lots of them. Little Oil, thanks to Teddy and Al, doesn't have to worry.

The Kennedy family purchased mineral rights from many poor farmersi in the south and southwest, often without explaining to the farmer what he was selling. Those rights in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi allowed for drilling by Kenoil and Mokeen Oil - two oil companies owned outright by the Kennedy family. Al Gore only owns stock in that non-polluting Occidental Petroleum Corporation.

Ever heard of JPK Enterprises? This is the Arctic Royalty Limited Partnership, a Trust formed by the Kennedy family in 1985 to avoid the corporate income taxes that Kenoil and Mokeen had to pay.

The Kennedy clan has made millions for their Trust, located on Fiji, from oil profits. Also, thanks to legislation passed by Teddy, they are. "Little Oil" and are not impacted by the elimination of the 22 percent Depletion Allowance that Big Oil used toclaim on their taxes. Teddy's maneuvers and legislation also made sure that Arctic Royalty Limited Partnership is exempt if the windfall profits tax is ever reinstated.

No, we don't need a line item veto. Not at all. I think you need to read the constitution the Nazis and the Stalinists had. Line item vetoes are great for those who prefer to completely ignore the public and have all power concentrated in the person of the Premier or President.

The tax cuts were handed out in an effort to get people to invest in the US instead of offshore. The Dems are just as bad as the Repubs about shafting the working American to earn a profit; once upon a time the Dems might have been the party of the working people, but that day disappeared about 1980. DiFi and others were busy declaring significant American mineral reserves to be "wilderness" and the interesting part was that those who pushed for the "wilderness" definitions in areas where mining and other industries were going for decades turned out to be DiFi and her friends who somehow had family or corporations that owned the major overseas sources of those minerals.

Why are jobs sent overseas? Lower pay, but more importantly, non-existent or unenforced wage, hour, safety, and pollution laws. If the US were to charge a pollution tariff on things like Chinese solar panels, they would be far too expensive to import. To call for open markets and no tariffs makes no sense when the playing field is so uneven - in the US we choose not to allow asbestos and flouride to be dumped on the ground. It isn't so in China, India, or Pakistan.

Well you clearly know the Moonbeam of the past and I am still absolutely floored he was voted in a second time. That would like voting Carter back into office. Keeping it friendly what do you think of Mr. Cain.... Can't remember his first time. Black conservative. I am on the fence with him right now. But me being on the fence is a good thing concerning him, because otherwise I am one side of the fence or the other....
