Hello! This little guy just hatched and were wondering if this is the umbilical cord?

I think it's hatching debris. It should fall off and be fine.

No, they aren't attached to their mothers, so no umbilical cord. I agree with the other posters. Just hatching goo.... most don't have that when they hatch but it does happen occasionally.
