Is this too much for hatching eggs?

Depends how BAD you really want those eggs, if it was on eggbid/e-bay and it was a bidding war, it depends how high your willing to go.

For me I would say that is way too much, but I dont show, or try to make a profit selling my eggs/chicks.

If there is someone else willing to pay that much also I guess in your and thier minds they must be worth it.

I would also caution that if you only get a 50% hatch which is oftened considered good for shipped eggs your paying 25-30 per chick, and it is often possible that you will be paying for 6 eggs that do nothing, so I guess its up to you to determine how bad you want them and how much risk your willing to take.

Ok I know I have been making allot of shameless plugs for this farm but its really great in that breeders picture the rooster is in a dirty pen All of whitmorefarms birds are pasture raised which I believe gives their chicks and eggs a destinct advantage. I have seen Will Marrow's birds and eggs and they are a great color and of very high quality. I have some of his chickens grand chickies

I know I will be buying chicks from him again. His birds are also from Wade Geane lines. They are also less expensive (about the same price for a dozen as for this guys half a dozen). I can say with confidence Will Marrow is not in this to make a quick but as he culls nearly 40% of what he hatches ! This is a serious breeder. Here is the website http://www.whitmorefarm.com/

LOL I don't even have one roo yet but I bet that is soon to change I just hope the little Blue copper bugger makes a good impression on my family then I might be able to keep him and get some $ for eggs.

Unless the parents were solid gold statues, NO EGGS are worth that much for me!

Even Grand Champion showbirds aren't guaranteed to produce quality birds, and the odds aren't in your favor for the eggs to hatch to begin with, especially if they are shipped.

If you're lucky enough to have all 6 eggs hatch, pack your bags, cause I'm taking you to Vegas....
