Is this unabsorbed yolk or what!!! Graphic pics. Please help.

I have never hatched chicks before. The first one that pops out looks like this. What the...? I have searched for something similar and I suspect it is an unabsorbed yolk. Any experts want to weigh in??? I will sure appreciate any help you can offer. Hoping it will be okay...

This picture makes it look lifeless, but it is very active. It is on the other side of the bator from its egg shell. It is kicking and peeping loudly. It does seem to be stuck on its back, however. Not sure why.

Oh, thank you , that puts my mind at ease. Hope someone else can learn from this, too.
Does this happen often??
 
did the chick just jump ship a little early?? Why does such a thing happen? It took at least 12 hours to come out of the shell.
 
I was just wondering if that was the non-slip kitchen shelf liners that you have on top of the wire mesh? I was thinking of doing that. Does it work well?
