Yeah, I will keep an eye on the heat lamp, I only have a 60 watt bulb in it, but it still does make a good amount of heat.

I will try the scrambled eggs now, I'll see how she likes them!!!

Thanks, I am glad to still have Whiny with me. It was certainly worth every second of effort.

I PMd you about your chicken coop...

UPDATE!!!
Well the update is that I feel she has stabilized and is constantly getting stronger and in better shape. She is slowly moving away from the heat lamp so I know her internal temp has to be back to normal as well.

I have this constant fear that she isn't eating or drinking...but I only check on her every hour, so I would have to catch her eating. I saw her eating and drinking this morning...I think I am just paranoid. I even considered getting out the dropper and feeding her baby parrot food again!!! I know she can eat on her own now though....so that means she will right?

Glad to hear the update, I was wondering last night how she was doing?

Maybe just keep an eye on the amount of food in her dish and gauge from that if you need to hand feed her???

I think I would change her name to Winn or Wynn after she makes it through this ordeal. As she sure has beaten a lot of obstacles to get where she is now.

Good work, Chickie Mom!

UPDATE!!!

I am back to feeding whiny. I wish it weren't so, but it is. I thought she was eating enough on her own yesterday as she did take some bites of scrambled eggs, and her regular food and drank A LOT...but she is acting weak again and I was afraid she wasn't getting enough on her own.

She is back to not taking it well from me...ahhh. I wish this were a good update, but it isn't that great. At least she has come this far though.

I am pretty bummed about this step back though, I was hoping to have worked myself out of the feeding and watering by dropper stage. :|

you can mix it up osmewhat more solid and mix that thru her feed (just enuf till it clumps together)... this will also have the effect of her getting more feed with each bite. Try that as you do not want to stress her out. (btw>if she is drinking sufficiently on her own now please discontinue the electrolytes in her waterer)

oh dear... now how did I miss that?
How long did you monitor? Just curious, but do you have her in a nice quiet place where all the sounds and such of your family are minimal?

yes, she is in the garage. in a kennel, very quiet. I am not %100 about the water, since the water level may have gone down a little, but as far as food goes she hasn't really been eating on her own. She is looking a little weaker, and not holding her wings up as she had been.

Oh dear - I'm sorry to hear this. Even got an instant migriane in Whiny's honor, when I read that she's having something of a setback. Poor girl. I hope it's just a temporary slide - that maybe she overdid it a bit - and that tomorrow will bring better news for both you and she. Maybe it will take some time for the vitamins etc. to have a sustained effect...
