Is whole corn good for your chickens?

My Serbian neighbor, who knows all about farming from The Old Country, feeds nothing but cracked corn to his chickens and guineas. Sometimes he cooks the grain--- that's how I got started cooking the grain--- but mostly not. And his poultry seems to be doing better than my poultry--- and he got all of his original guineas from me, and some chickens as well. Still, I prefer to have a mix of grains.

Can you please tell me the recipe?

Corn is high in calories, adds warmth in cold climates in the winter, added to their regular feed.Whole corn is fine for large chickens and ducks, I'd think Bantams, youths, and small breeds would rather have a course cracked corn as a daily treat in winter.

I feed my chickens whole corn but im wondering if the whole corn is giving them the nutrients they need.
I would feed them a mix along with pellets and grain. I dont know about other people..and frankly (I dont give a darn) I give my chickens what I would want if I was one of them...always fresh water and a mixture a few times a week of beans, papaya with the seeds, fresh veggies and bread. On sundays everyone gets spoiled....bagels, popcorn, cheeze-its...nilla wafers....alot of beans and crumbles and pellets. They are healthy little buggers and noise af. One of my roosters flew the coop, Tony, and he now owns everything outside of the chicken house/pen. He gets most everything they get along with whatever he finds. He has been loose for a month and his leg muscles have developed to the point that if another rooster gets out he immediately overpowers them and forces them back in. I also carry a stick at all times due to my injuries with him. So a mixed diet and plenty of fresh air and exercise and alot of love is pretty much all they need. I forgot...I also give them Kombucha scobys often and alot of their own eggs. Ive never had a chicken try to break their own eggs...the shells are so hard I doubt they would be able. I usually on a daily basic take a couple of eggs or more and gently toss them out so they can eat the yolk and clear part as well as run around with the shell. I dont want any babies so even if they ever did break their own shell I would probably be okay with that..but so far it hasnt happened a single time.

Sorry to butt in on a thread that’s not mine but can I hang a entire cob of corn in the run for a treat and play thing for my girls? Kinda the same way as cabbage? Thanks :)
