Looks a lot like one of my (younger) juvenile Isbars and similar color pattern, except his base color is blue. Heehee, the Legbar pullets, in the second photo, look like a bad hair day.

He is a nice looking roo. I was looking back in the thread and noticed that you ordered 5 Isbars from GFF, but received 15 chicks. Did you receive at least 5 that appear to be pure Isbar? Is it possible that GFF sent several chicks of other breeds or projects as packing peanuts? If so, the Isbars should have been marked so you could tell the difference. The 2 dark ones below look like BCM. I'd bet that dark pullet will lay dark brown eggs. The new line has a LOT more variability right now. I will post a pic of some of mine later (I posted some a few pages back too). I have concerns about if they have maybe been outcrossed ( either here in the US, or in Sweden before they were imported).
Almost all of mine have red or grey-green eyes. I have several roosters with pea combs. Several look like black/blue copper Marans ( by color more than type). And one lays brown eggs.
But my rooster is gorgeous. So I'm a little torn as to how I went to proceed.![]()
This one does look like a very handsome black Isbar cockerel. How big is he compared to your other breeds? Did you receive extras from GFF also?
To tell the truth, had I read about all the issues with the new line before I put in my bid, I might have waited a while."I am curious to see how they all feather out and what color eggs they lay."
KYtinpusher - Me too!!
I'm so pleased you like the Isbars enough to order them. How exciting.
Your Black Bresse should also have white earlobes.
