Hello Eastern Nebraska! Thank you so much for the warm welcome!Welcome to BackYard Chickens. And a Big Hello from Eastern Nebraska!
You guys are all so nice to welcome us! Thank you!Hello!
We're a young family, striving for self sufficiency on a small island off the coast of New England. We've fallen in love with chickens! We've got two buff Orpington hens, eight black Australorp Hens, one Black Australorp Rooster('Slick Jagger' soon heading to a hobby farm in CT.) and a mixed hoard of fresh chicks, some Australorps, some buff Orpington Australorp crosses(super pretty!) And 6 new Americaunas. We've got some roosters coming up from our first diy hatch out with which we had 11 out of 17 eggs hatch using a heat lamp, Chick pad, some storage totes and a cardboard box. in addition to doing our best to live a good honest organic life, we run a nonprofit community garden.
This forum has been a great help to us, and we're excited to interact with you all!
