ISO Orpington hens South Central PA

Hello all, I’m still new to BYC and have a small flock of RIR mix hens. I’m looking for just 2 or 3 Orpington hens of any type, not getting many eggs from my ladies yet since they are still young so I’m hoping to get these so I can get some eggs until my others start. In Dover Pa, thank you!

Perhaps try looking on Craigslist. Orpingtons are one of the more popular chicken breeds and as we go in to spring/summer people will start selling started birds from there. Be cautious though as you never know what chicken disease you might get along with your new hens. That caution goes for any source other than major hatcheries and NPIP certified flocks. I would also recomend looking at the major hatcheries because most of them will sell started pullets you just need to find the right one.

I would say Craigslist or anything similar is your best option for finding already laying age birds.
