Tan sounds more "normal" for sour crop.It was more of a tan color this time, which honestly could’ve been what it was the first time too, I was just so surprised the first time and it wasn’t too light out. It seemed more mucusy last time- this time it was maybe more comparable to watery pancake mix.
Would sand work until I get get to town?
Sand is better than nothing for grit. Usually if birds free range at all or have a rocky, dirt floor coop they can find what they need for grit, but I was thinking if everything is covered in snow they might not be able to find enough. However they're probably also not eating long grass in the middle of winter so I don't know how likely an impaction is, unless she could have eaten some straw or something.
