Israeli Flag Flying In My Yard

some people are extremists and uneducated and look for anything different to hate. A native american woman was ran down by a truck driven by idiot men who thought she was a "dirty Arab Muslim" as they put it a few years back. The fact that they would kill anyone for their origin is bad enough but on top of it the ignorant people mistook a native american for someone from the middle east.

i think more than likely no one will bother the OP, but I can understand the trepidation on his/her part

Yikes. Yeah, come to think of it, I can think of a few groups of people who might take issue. I doubt anyone would actually harm the critters, though.

Debiraymond - a Confederate flag is as good a deterrent as a security system around here.

NOBODY is gonna break into a place that has that flag flying.

People will harm animals regardless of your ethnicity. If your concerned, you may want to add motion detector lights and even a motion detector camera or camera next to the light. At least add the lights. You can also buy a dog that protects your property, they will bark when someone enters the yard. We have 2 big dogs that protect our house(not on purpose).

Hopefully you won't have any problems. I was telling my neighbor yesterday that it would be a good idea to secure her coop, so no one poisons or let free her chickens. Ours are very secure locked behind a steel door. Good luck.

This is America people.
If you want to fly an Israeli flag in your yard, a Rebel flag, a British flag, or a flag from the United Federation Of Planets.... That's your business and no one else's. However as this is America, I personally think anyone who lives in this country who flies a flag, should fly the American flag along with any other flag.

And flying the American flag a bit higher isn't only respect... It's Law. (Or at least it is here in Mississippi, American flag highest, State flag just under it and any others below the State flag).

To quote a song "People are crazy".
If you flew a flag with a happy face on it someone somewhere would be offended. I'm a weird duck and I'll admit it, but I am glad I have a few distant neighbors who have some very odd and dare I say hate related items in their yard? But that's fine... It lets me know where the kooks are.

As for harming your animals.. I think you should always be prepaired to deal with that kind of thing regardless of whether you are flying any type of flag. jmho

x6. Or actually 7, with mississippi farmboy's vote.

As a Navy retiree, I delight in the fact that maybe, just maybe, something I did in 29 years made it possible for you to fly that flag and be proud of where you came from. Good on ya'! We can't appreciate where we've gotten without remembering where we've been.

And I sincerely hope you suffer no repercussions. Whoa be to the bubba that messes with my Irish or Polish pennants!!

That being said, it is Federal Law to also display the US Flag.

Title 4, Chapter 1, SS7 of the United States Code reads:
(c) No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the same level, to the right of the flag of the United States of America, except during church services conducted by naval chaplains at sea, when the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for the personnel of the Navy. No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any Territory or possession thereof.

According to Wikipedia, "This is a U.S. federal law, but there is no penalty for failure to comply with it and it is not widely enforced — indeed, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that punitive enforcement would conflict with the First Amendment right to freedom of speech."

Also, the US flag is the first to be raised (briskly and with pride) and the last to be lowered (solemnly, with dignity).

Sorry to get on that soapbox, but, Hey! Navy has me a leeeetle bit brain washed in regards to the Flag!

this is right... there's a whole flag etiquette think... have a friend whose a navy vet who explained things.... always lite flag at night or bring it down, fly the country that your in's flag highest and then state/province then whatever flags you want etc... people should respect a flag but there are ignorant people everywhere. You have the right to fly your flag just do it with respect and it'll give no one any reason for concern.

I don't want to mention names, but, yes, there is one religious group that is known to dislike dogs and has a history of harming the dogs of people who do not follow their religion. I hope and pray that does not happen to you! I agree with flying the American flag, too. The fact that Israel still exists and its history proves that our heavenly Father exists and loves Israel. It's absolutely mind-boggling that anyone would want to be against a country and people that our God clearly loves.
