What version is your iPad?

The browser or the device?

The device is an iPad generation 8

and the browser is Safari version 14

One my computer where I have also had this issue I use google chrome - the version is in the original post.

i think one of the most recent versions of ipad lets you record if you go to Control center by swiping from the top right corner of the screen
there should be several buttons including brightness and volume settings
if the screen recording icon doesnt show up (a cirlc einside another cirlce) you will probably ahve to upadate the control center in your Settings
