This is the last baby to hatch, the others appeared early hours Thursday and early hours Friday. It hadn’t even pipped when I took the dry babies out.

It’s been 12 hours and this is the progress it’s made, would you assist or hold off as it’s breathing and cheeping?

12 hours since it pipped? I'd consider at least pulling back some of the shell that looks like it is loose.

If you see any blood, stop immediately.

I know my perspective on it is likely different from many here. But for shipped eggs especially, but even my own eggs, I'm not too hesitant to intervene. Artificial incubating isn't really a natural event in my mind, and so that line of interfering was crossed when I put the eggs in the incubator.

Definitely your call though. You've got to live with whatever happens, so I wish you the clearest mind possible in deciding.

Best wishes!

Hubby either has a sense of humour or doesn't like chickens 🙂
He’s always liked them but he’s been at home a lot more lately, and they’ve taken to following him round the garden so he loves them now.

He had a cat called Plantpot when he was a little kid so I knew what I was getting into when I said he could give names to them 😂

Does your husband...want the chicken to eventually be chow mein?

;)
He, and one of our kids, wants to get meat chicks to raise and fill the freezer but I can’t… it’s one thing to eat them but another to raise them and then eat them! They have names and personalities… I just couldn’t.
