It’s been 24 hours since internal pip. Should I make a safety hole?

This next safety hole you don’t want large
Small like a sharpened pencil end
We want baby to get air but not dry it out
This will be a long hatch 48-60 hours so lots of patients needed here
We have to add the step of the air cell end to the safety hole you make
I make it then leave baby be for 24 hours. Then make that hole a little bigger but not to big maybe a dime size or less to see the bill
I also think putting Vaseline on the end you opened then plastic kitchen wrap just so we can keep it moist. We don’t want it drying out
Thanks! I made the hole:

I think that the bill must be there; the membrane was brown and no blood at all 👍 so now just wait for 24 hours and see what happens?

Yes wait 24 hours and then you can make the hole a bit bigger to see the beak
That’s a Perfect safety hole
Baby can get air now

Another one is a breech, but I poked a hole and it’s doing really well, already trying to pip some more. The other one that I was concerned about is also doing well, it’s moving around a lot more since I poked the hole. I’ve got four eggs total, 2 so far are breech, one is halfway out, sitting in a cup absorbing its yolk:

Hopefully for not too much longer. SO CUTE lol. The last egg hasn’t pipped internally yet, so it’s probably a breech too, but I haven’t seen any bruising yet, so I’ll wait a while on that one.

I’m glad you now know exactly what to look for
Once you know it’s easy to catch it
My fingers are crossed. Just remember these guys missed the air cell step so they will take 48 hours or longer

All doing well! First duckling that was still absorbing last night is out this morning:

And the 3rd egg in the back left is also breech, so I made a hole and now he’s breathing good 👍 from what I can tell, I’ve got 2 brown and 2 white
He or she is beautiful
Great job on catching the bruises
Later today about 24~30 hours you can make the hole a little bigger
But be careful as wrong ends have a lot more veins we can hit
Then just let babies continue to absorb another 24 hours
They may even try to hatch themselves. If they hit the egg before you make the hole bigger then just let them continue instead
I’ll be around today so I can check in
