You all have been great in helping me determine the breed and gender of a few of my posse, so I’m hoping you can help me with these two. I have what I told was an Americana/EE pullet and I believe that is accurate. She is 18 weeks old and in the last two photos. The first photos are of a “bonus” chick I received from a hatchery. I think it is also an EE, possibly an Olive EE. I’m not sure of the breed or the gender. Can you all help me out in determining what breed and possibly the gender these two are? The small one is 8 weeks old. Thanks Much!

They are both EE's.
The 18 week old is a pullet.
Is the smaller one really 8 weeks old? The patches of red may be a cockerel but their saddle feathers don't start coming in until 12 weeks old.

First is a definite pullet. The second appears to be one as well. As far as the comb goes.

Updated pics of the second one would be good though. Bonus chicks are usually male, and I see red patches over the wing.

Most hatcheries include bonus chicks as packing peanuts. Not much of a bonus usually as they are most often male.
I recently bought 10 chicks from Ideal Poultry and they shipped 10 chicks in freezing weather. They arrived on the 29th.
1 dead on arrival and 2 died yesterday.
No packing peanut chicks with my order :(

I got a female bonus chick. If you ask the hatchery they will tell you weather or not it is male or female, but not the breed. (At least when we asked that’s what happened)

So sorry for your loss. I know a couple more popular hatcheries do the bonus chick.
Depending on how many you order, what the boxes can hold, and the temperature is when a bonus is sometimes necessary. Could your box only fit 10 chicks?
