It has begun

Hatching really is an addiction and one you start it just keeps going! I was thinking about having one of my local friends order me a couple chicks when she put in hey own order as an add on but when I got home from work yesterday I had several boxes on the door step. One was a larger styrofoam cooler I ordered to rebuild my incubator and another was a shipment of eggs! The eBay seller that sold me that batch that came half crunched sent me a whole new shipment + extras! That combined with 8 BCM I got from our local poultry judge/4H leader I've got my bator filed again....

Have you thought about trying an autosexing breed? ie Bielefelder

I did look at the auto sexing breeds. They are difficult to find as well.

This hatching was fun, but not what I would qualify as addicting.

It may be different though when we start hatching our own eggs.

This rooster "Boss" is like the giving tree... he gave me...

and it looks like 2 more on the way + more later in the month.
and now he will be soup some day in the future. Thank you Boss!

This was the hulk. He took along time to process. surprisingly a chick hatched 1 month ago had a lot of meat on it. I bet it will taste better than the 8 month old roo.
