Most meats are shipped processed and boxed already, but if people are limited in how far they are allowed to ship on the hoof it would be hard for the animals or birds to even make it to the packing plant.

I remember reading a "rant" by a BYC'r couple of days ago.....the person this happened to was one of our own. He didn't get satisfactory results from the PO people, and stated he was going to notify the local news media. Good for him!! Just so sorry it's the chicks who suffered.

I don't believe the transport of beef and pork will ever be limited....their lobby groups are too rich. Remember~~it always comes down to money which = power

the video feed was alot better than the what they wrote. the post office did own up to there mistake and showed a writtin apologly on the air. also it was not my normal carreier or the normal sub. there was supposed to be somebody that makes the phone calls before the carrier picks up on these priority shipments but for some reason that day nobody called and the sub carrier didn't know any better. and when i told my regular carrier, she had no idea what had happened, nor did she know that i have had prior orders and my carrier brought up another point that these "city" carriers are not even aware that chicks are sent in the mail. maybe a little more training or a little more common sense that it is not normal for the mail to be churping at you.
not even the news people that i talked knew you could order chicks thru the mail. it was "news" to them. and yes i will trust the P.O. for further shipments of chicks. and they have already been told about my order that is coming in next month.
