It seems that there are more cockerel chicks hatching this year than normal.

In terms of humans, when there are an abundance of baby boys born it signal the possibility of war.

Now we are not talking about humans, we are talking about chickens.

But what does it tell you when there is more cockerels than normal.

If we're being real? That some people have confirmation bias and information in a digital age trends instead of shows clear statistics.

At our place, my first two hatches were overwhelming female. Like out of 20 chicks, I only had three cockerels. It was awesome because I wanted pullets. My next two hatches were dead even. Out of 26 chicks I believe it's split exactly 50/50. I'm sure next time I'll get stuck with all cockerels.

I wonder if hotter temperatures have anything to do with it. I heard July was the hottest month in history but I don’t recall if that was worldwide or in just in my town.

My first hatch this year has 5 pullets and 1 cockerel. How perfect was that?! Too bad I lost 3 of the pullets to a dog.
