It this normal?

Thank you guys. makes me feel better. the last 2 are trying to push out but the membrane is really sticky and yellow..should i help? how do i get it off their feather when they dry..its so sticky. like glue

mist them lightly with warm (near 95 farenheit) water, let it set a few minutes and do it again. on the 3rd misting start cleaning them off, i usually just use a rag, sometimes a toothbrush. if they are really damp after being cleaned i put them back in the incubator for an hour or so, until they are dry again.

They had their beaks out for like 2 or 3 days already. i wet them took tiny bit off. and since then 1 pushed out so did the other but is stuck halfway out. ill prolly get him out now. hes really trying hard but its very sticky after open this long

just do it slowly and watch for blood. you should be fine.

they made it!! pushed out the rest on their own... that makes 11 out of the 14 that started incubating made it.. now if they live longer an a week or two ill be happy. ill try to send a pic of the last 2

I cant belive they are alright. i thought something was wrong and they werent going to try helping themself. all they needed was for me to remove some of the really sticky stuff. i still got check the black ones abdomen but the yellow one is a little swollen and black. i check all their bellies today and some had a small hard black thing dried and some you couldnt tell even had a problem. one did still look bad though. they seem to be doing alright but i cant get the goo off the feathers. its like cement!

i tried cleaning them with warm water. even mixed a separate thing with a little dawn dish soap. just on their backs but some of it is really stuck like super glue.

the water has to kind of "soak in" and loosen it. the worst problems you'll have with this is chilling the chicks and removing some feathers.

I can not tell apart which ducks are pekins and which are the fawn and white runner ducks. both kinda have a light brown tint to their head feathers. when i ordered them i got 5 of each. i had 8 white eggs and 2 greenish tinted. i could kinda tell when they were partly still in the shell cause the runners feathers looked grayish brown and wirey and pekins were all yellow. but now they have been drying and it really hard to tell. some stand straight up when alarmed but not any more or less then all of them seem to be doing. the last one still in the incubator had a greenish egg. but once that dries itll be hard to tell to. is there any other way to tell for sure?

maybe i could put them in the garage. it stays very warm out there?
