It was too HOT in North Carolina yesterday!

It reached 107 degrees yesterday. I checked on my girls and they were panting and hanging their wings down. Thanks to this site, I knew just what to do. I quickly filled up a bucket of cool water and held each bird in the water until the spark came back in their eyes and they perked up. They thanked me by being very upset that I had messed up their feathers and spent much of the afternoon in the shade making themselves pretty again. They ended up with very fluffy butts. No harm, no fowl.

It was a hot one yesterday, we are just south of Raleigh. I gave the girls a pool or cold water and a bowl of frozen carrots/cucumbers. They were very happy!

Yep definitely time to start getting the frozen treats ready. The heat & humidity yesterday in NE North Carolina was no joke! We filled up 1 of the waterers with all ice to keep them cool.
