Many people dont understand the concept of the egg.. I had a friend that was a city girl want to know how I know which eggs were chicks and which eggs I could eat. I told her that they can be for both if you have a rooster. She was confused and frankly so was I. She thought that somehow they were marked as to if they should be eaten or incubated. I told her that if they are picked up with in a day or 2 of being layed then you eat them. If you leave them and a hen starts sitting then they become a chick. She couldnt believe that they were one in the same. I dont think she ate eggs for a while after that... Jenn
