" Oh, any place will do. The girls will stay close to me," she said, shifting with a sigh back to her bent human shape. They settled near the orchard, where the apples were starting to fall, and the chickens eagerly cleaned up the fallen fruit as well as the bugs attracted to the orchard's bounty. Settling slowly onto her stool, Magatha laid her cane across her lap. " So, you are a handsome man. Have you no wife yet? Certainly not for lack of prospective ladies, I'm sure!" She cackled merrily.

Rayko looked to the chickens as they made contented sounds, as they discovered the sweet treats of the over ripe apples. At Martha's question, he focused on his hand and the blade of grass he'd pick to twine absently around his finger, while he thought of the best way to answer her. "My lady Martha, you do flatter me with your high esteem of my looks. But alas, I am not married. I guess you could say, I am married to a vow, for it is my only purpose now." He said truthfully, before raising his eyes to meet her piercing gaze.

Magatha grinned. "Forgive this nosy old busybody. Don't worry, someday, someone will find you if you don't find them. A kind soul like yourself will make an excellent father. A woman knows these things, dear. But still, something troubles you. Is there something you wish to talk about? What weighs down a bird that would fly so high?"

"There's not, to forgive. Perhaps in time, I'll feel more inclined to seek a mate. Thank you for you high praise." Rayko said with conviction. He looked out over the gardens a moment, before addressing his main concern. "I worry for queen Lillia. She's being pulled in so many directions."

Vivian walked outside, hoping to enjoy the garden and Magatha's hens. The pleasant floral aroma, combined with the radiant sunshine, made her calm and content. She saw Magatha, and decided to go over to talk to her.

Vivian looked nervously at Rayko. He looked nice, but she was afraid of all other humans, and whatever her species was. She slowly sidled up to the two.

Magatha looked away into the distance. " Yes, the young Queen bears a difficult burden, both within and without. Turmoil rages around her, and yet she must remain a rock for us all, or the kingdom, and what is left of our kind, will fall into obscurity. " Magatha lays a hand on Rayko's shoulder. " The queen bears many burdens for us, freeing us to bear our own. You do well to remember that she wants her people to be happy, and that in worrying about things you have no control over, you do yourself great injustice. You must learn to let go! " Magatha gazes into Rayko's eyes, searching.

Rayko caught movement out of the corner of his eye and turned his full attention to Vivian. He smiled politely and bowed slightly. "Good morning, my lady. " He said with respect.

Vivian managed to smile a bit, then curtsied back, without saying anything. After a few seconds she inquired quietly "How are you?"
