"If it wasn't for Acan, I shudder to think of the outcome. He is a asset to this kingdom." Leydren said with respect for the terror bird.
Lyra nodded then sighed "Either way, it is good to be home once more." She said, changing the subject.

After a time of the silent treatment, Reptar got up from the bed and sighed dramatically, as he went to lean aginst the wall beside Aiveron's writing desk. "You can't ignore me forever, brother. Are you really going to write in that book all day? You are endanger of becoming a monk. " He complained.

At Reptar's last sentence, Aiveron did grant his brother his full attention. "It would not be my doing, I assure you." He replied tensley.

Reptar made a face at him before straightening from the wall. "Fine! Be that way. You just hide in your room from the rest of the world. I however, shall go live life enough for both of us. Good day brother!" He said as he mussed Aiveron's hair before departing.

Aiveron grumbled as he smoothed his abused locks. He then retrieve the poem he'd been in the process of writing, when his brother had intruded. It was to his lady love. Though he never signed them and she didn't know who he was. That was how he liked to think of her. He smiled warmly, as he once again found his train of thought to continue the right verse.
Vivian was in owl form and perched in some rafters up above. She pruned herself, thinking about how it much be sleeping in a bed. Her whole life, she had to sleep as a bird, a little saddened by it.

" You are simply running away from your past. If you keep running, Rayko, you will never conquer your fears. I'll grant that you have done a fine job as the night watchman, but just try and think about it, alright?"
Magatha liked Rayko a lot. He was such a polite young man, and both he and the Queen deserved happiness. She was sure his straightforward honesty and devotion was just the refreshing change the Queen needed after her previous acquaintances, but it was up to him to decide.

Rayko nodded slightly as he thought about her words. Then chuckled, "It seems I'm always thinking around you, lady Martha. Just as you send me home with the homework of a thousand thoughts." He teased her. But sobered slightly and promised, "I'll do my very best to be a worthy friend to our Queen."

Leydren smiled happily and also changed the subject. "Let's raid the kitchen for you celebration feast! Unless you have to report to the queen first? " She asked curiously.

Reptar came down the steps and smiled happily at Lyra. "Aw, Lady Lyra, so good to have you back. I've missed my childhood friend so much." He said with respect, as he bowed to her. He then looked to Leydren with speculation of what she would say to him now. That was how they always were.

"Lord Reptar, so like yourself to be hiding in the darkened corridors. Tell me, have you grown tired of tormenting your brother, yet? Or are in between breaking innocent hearts?" Leydren said with annoyance.

Reptar straightened slightly and replied, "Your heart has always been safe from me. Because I scarcely believe you have one. But that's beside the point, I did not come to see you, Madam Secretary. But my dear friend, lady Lyra. "

Leydren rolled her eyes with exaggeration.

Lyra watched the two quietly as they spoke, shaking her head a little "I don't know when the queen wants me to talk to her, though I should probably find her to ask."

Reptar smiled as he offered his arm to Lyra. "Then allow me to escort you, lady Lyra. Besides Leydren has taken up enough of your time. "

Leydren scoffed at that.

Lyra looked from one to the other then joked "Now I feel a little like the last hunk of meat at the table.." She said then laughed and shook her head, taking his arm "I will go with you because I should give my report, but you shouldn't be talking like that to my friends."

Reptar sighed dramatically and whispered with sincerity, "For you, lady Lyra, I shall become the perfect gentleman to your friend. Even when she abuses me verbally."

Leydren shook her head at his promise to Lyra. "That I would like to see. For you Lord Reptar are far from a genteel." She retorted as she turned to walk ahead of them.

Reptar looked to Lyra as they walked. But stuck to his promise. "Thank you, Lady Leydren for your honesty and insightful wisdom. I shall endeavor to do better." As they were left in her wake, he spoke honestly with Lyra. " How is it you are my only female friend. Wait, don't answer that. I have missed you. I think you are the only one who see the real me. That and your mother. She was quite fond of pecking my bald head. If one looks close enough, you can definitely see the scar." He said with genuine humor.

Lyra smiled softly, shaking her head at their antics together. "Hey, I've known you since we were little, I better know you by now, right?"

Vivian flew down to them and landed next to Reptar. She tapped him on the shoulder softly.
