I set three emu eggs on Christmas eve, so they are 41 days along. Is there any way to tell if they are developing? I need to order emu food at the feed store, but I don't want to order a big bag of it if the eggs are no good. Any suggestions?

Use a really strong torch to candle if you aim for the air cell end you should be able to make out some movement or veins. Just make sure the room is really dark

HI Janice!!

not sure about EMU eggs but there is a great thread that I believe chickenzoo has that had tons of info while she was hatching...

Sometimes if you put the egg on a flat surface and talk to it , it will start rocking. Take a listen to the egg for movement and pecking. You can often feel the baby push on the shell.... I don't know of any light that can shine into a dark emu egg w/o hurting it..
