If theres no bleeding and the chick isnt making progress I wouldWhen I start peeling the outer membrane it seems to peel the inner as well...if it's not bleeding do you think it's safe to keep peeling off?

He is not as active as he was about an hour ago....I was thinking maybe he just needed to rest for a bit? I think if nothing has progressed in the next half hour it's time to help him more!Is it still cheeping vigorously or is it wearing out? It might need more help.

It should dry up and fall off on it's own. I've heard of people clipping it off really close to the shell and letting the rest fall off on it's own. Them dragging the shell around can cause issues.Only thing is his umbilical cord is still attached and he's dragging around the egg shell. But otherwise he is all fluffed up this morning and chirping!!
