This is what I've been trying to accomplish. Sigh. I'm so envious. It's just gorgeous.
Btw, mason bees are great! I wanted hives and read an awful lot about them. Sort of made me chicken to try. I ended up with mason bees which are easy and great plus they don't sting. Then we moved onto a property with 3 abandoned hives. I took one and made it a planter. I may try and do hives sometime in the future. Haven't totally given up but will always do the mason bees. (There is another type of bee that comes out right after the masons - anyplace that sells mason will know what they are - something californicus or something with californi in the name. Osmia californicus I think.
