Terrific job! I have bad news though, your chickens won't be happy until you've completed this:

Awesome coop!Guys, this project was started in MAY. I have zero carpentry experience except for doing my home's window and baseboard trim. I had to HEAVILY rely on my gifted father for help. We have hawks and weasels and foxes so it needed to be a fortress. Between our horrible cold spring and our wickedly hot summer, I really didnt know when we would finish it, but here it is! The inside floor is coated in black jack and the walls are covered in 4 layers of limewash. I need to make one more removable roost but otherwise, the girls are moved in and safe. I have their water in the bucket with nipple waterers because I scrubbed way too many chicken waterers when I helped on the farm in my youth. I'm still figuring out the best way to feed them. The only girl we thought would start laying any time soon is a welsummer, so it's definitely not her!View attachment 1549762
