Next 5 days here not above 10 degrees,,,several nites way below zero with wind chills around 25 below. I cannot imagine peas in an outside pen without a enclosure to be locked into if necessary. I would venture to say mid 20's protein feed levels would be minimum if the birds had no protection from the cold wind.And that may not be high enough.

Mine are enclosed, but I still use game bird feed at 28% protein!

It's been 50 and no wind...a glorious break from winter ....tomorrow it's starts again with cold temps and at least 2 inches of snow

4 degrees with a wind chill of -10 this morning in PA.

Thankfully every one appears to be okay, coldest winter we've had since we got our birds.

It is only going to be cold here for about 3 days, then it's going to warm back up!

30 BELOW ZERO wind chill here tonight,,,Propane has went up 75 cents a gallon since we filled our tank back in September at $1.69 a gallon,,and expected to go higher yet. Everyone gets on the bandwagon when they can make a quick buck!! Ahh,,,think about it,,,,the only reason we must work is for conveniences in life,,instead of walking,we buy a car,then must buy gas,ect. We don't plant a garden,,then we must buy food in the store. We don't cut firewood,,we need to buy another fuel source for heat,or move to a warmer climate,,and that idea right now seems the best way to get out of this never ending deep freeze,,wind blowing,blizzard like conditions we have outside right now.Jamaica,,we're 5 years past due for another vacation in Negril,,,the mere thought of sweat dripping off your eyebrow at 10am every morning would be such a gratifying experience right now!!
