It's happening...I have chick FEVER!

Chicks are just so cute! I lost a couple chicks a little while ago and thought, "7 chickens left will be enough, I won't replace them". Then discovered I had an Australorp roo.

My motto is: If it lays, it stays... if it crows, it goes and returned the roo to the seller. Thing is..... I had my daughter with me and she gave me the eyes. So, we went home with not just the replacement for the roo, but an extra too! Now we are the proud owners of a Golden Laced Wyandotte and a Barred Rock.

When I told my hubby, his response was, "We're done, right???" And so, here I am reading this thread LOL

I got it too, sad thing is i cant have anymore. Now when chicks come to my feed stores i am soooo going to have to stay away from them if i can.

I will be really tempted to buy a GLW and a SLW. My last GLW turned out to be a roo, still mad about that.

Mater of fact i shouldn't be in this thred hahaha

"If it lays, it stays... if it crows, it goes "

that's a good motto, but even though I am pretty good at telling if it's a roo or hen early, I always find myself making excuses to keep em all anyway!

I am sure that my DH is getting tired of hearing about chicks too....I have been spending several hours a day reading BYC trying to learn as much as I can from everyone's experiences. I have ordered chicks and they are due to arrive end of the month. I CAN"T wait!!

Me, too, but I've kind of satisfied it by buying 7 bantam cochins today, have a pair of Mille Fleur cochins coming Wednesday, and chicks ordered for February.

have hatching eggs on the way, too!

I have chick fever too. I can't decide what I want to do. I spend hours looking at the hatcheries and filling my cart up and figuring out shipping times, then I go back and change things up. Do I want to go ahead and order specific breeds or do I want to order an assortment and just be surprised? Should I just wait and see what breeds the feed store gets in? What if I do wait and the feed store doesn't get the breeds I want? I am fairly certain my husband thinks I need to be committed for putting this much thought into getting more chicks.
