I have two EE hens and a BBS Ameraucana hen, their eggs are very hard to tell apart. My Roo is a BBS Ameraucana as well. How can I tell them apart? I will attach a picture of each chick we have so far.

Are you just trying to sort the chicks? Sorry i don't have a tip for sorting eggs laided, I was planning to seperate one of my hens either later this year or early next to hatch a few of hers presorted.

As for the chicks I'm assuming your bbs hen and roo are either blue or splash? I don't know what a splash chick would look like but you would know a blue chick if you had one, those all look black. If both hen and roo are splash you would get 100% splash from her eggs, if either one is splash and the other blue you would get 50/50 for blue and splash, but you won't know her blue chicks from the other hens possible blue chicks. I'm guessing the roo is not splash as so far it looks like he has only passed on black to the chicks

Personally I have 5 EE, 1 with partial blue showing, 1 known hidden blue and a 3rd possibly hidden blue (both hidden are white). And 4 and 5 no known blue.. I can't tell the hens eggs apart either expect 1 whos is darker more olive. Only reason i know for sure the 1 hen is hidden blue was I collected her egg while she was in injury confinement so her egg was marked and placed seperate.

Hope you start hatching done blues and splash soon

Well good news if you get any splash you know they are from the pair. And her chicks will be 50/50 for blue and splash. I would deffinatly going forward either seperate her into a small pen in the coop/run about a week before colkecting eggs to hatch so you can mark hers. Or try the food color trick though that sounds like a lot of work to me

Oh also becuase he's the splash all other chicks will have/show or carry blue. I have one that is mostly yellow/brown but has blue on the under feathers and the longer wing and tail feathers. It can make for a really cool contrast.
