Its Official, I am tired of living in the city.

I dont just live in "town", I live in a big subdivision. I can look out in any direction and see 25 plus houses.........
I too have the dream of buying some land and a house out in the country but I dont forsee that happening. Only way it would happen is if I move back to our family farm and ranch out in the middle of nowhere..

I would hate that... i'd feel like a fish in a bowl.
If you can, move back to the ranch! The middle of nowhere is gooood...

Maybe someday I can move back. I have years of work to do there. Its 210 acres that have been in my family since 1919. It needs serious cleaning and brush cutting, fence building, you name it...it needs it. Wish I could walk out the door each day to do that but not happening.

I actually quite enjoy it. I think it's nice that there's always other people out there, not just you with goodness knows how many empty miles around you... Just my opinion. I think living in the city is quite comforting. But then again, I live in a quiet area, no music, shops or anything. I couldn't STAND living somewhere noisy.

We've been on 8 acres for 8 years now. Before that we lived in the typical subdivision with the houses so close together that the side yards were about as wide as the gate in the fence. When we first moved in I had not gotten window coverings up yet. I went into the laundry room sans clothes to get some underwear off the dryer. Didn't have my glasses on and noticed movement. The next door neighbor was 8 ft away looking at me through her bathroom window. After that I kept a good eye out for her and always wore my glasses. Didn't want to miss anything.

We recently went to a home in PA to pick up a rooster. The lady had chickens all over, horses, and rabbits. My 9yo couldn't stop talking about how this was the kind of home he wants. My mom is giving the kids her city home.It is nice, but it is in the city.More rules than our city home,so I suspect the house will be sold for a country home.

Wow 210 acres! I can not imagine that much land.We own .97 and dream about having atleast a 5 acre place.

From my laundry room window I can see into my neighbors place. On a quiet day I can hear them on the toilet.

I lived in town a few months between the time I moved out of my parents farm and before I got married....did not like it one little bit. Our closest neighbor is 1/2 mile and the next closest is over a mile. I'd love to build a house smack dab in the middle of our pasture...then I wouldn't be able to see or hear anyone else except our cows. Right now really the only time I hear a neighbor is when their tractor is running so it could be a lot worse.

We just moved to the mountains a couple of weeks ago after 25+ years of living in the city. This move has been a divine blessing for us, and this place is so perfect... I just cannot express how happy I am being away from traffic, etc. And you know what? Being out here, I don't spend as much money on fast food and crap and little quick runs to the store for this and that, most of which I don't really need but go shopping just to have something to do.

Our first night here, I saw more stars in the sky than I think I have seen ever in my life. The air is crisp and clear, and our chickens are ten times happier here, as are the rest of our animals.

I could not imagine returning to city life after this. It would truly take an act of God to get me down off this mountain now.
