It's official. I'm moving to Arkansas!

WooHoo! At least I'll know SOMEONE in the area.
Although I think I have a friend there already. The lady that helped me find the house we are renting. I was hunting around message boards, asking if anyone knew where I could call for rentals (college town, they mostly just stick signs in the yard or on bulletin boards, not conveniently posted to internet or newspapaers) and she answered and we got talking and she reccommended me to her former landlord who just happened to have the house she used to live in available. SHe seems to be a nice lady, spent some time in the islands, so we have the tropics in common and she has 7 rottweillers (how she knew the house was super pet friendly!) her DH likes old cars (I have a 49 Plymouth Deluxe) so at least there one person there. Althouh MY DH has been there for 2 months and has made a few friends by now, I'm sure. He hangs out at the VFW, especially on Wed nites (Karaoke Nite, although he won't get up and sing)
I doubt I'll be able to have chickens at this house, but the good news is that we will be looking to actually buy a place in a year or so. Hopefully where I can keep my horse at home. I'm looking for a place to board her once I get up there.
Funny, I'll trust DH to check out a house and I will tolerate less than perfect housing for us (as long as there is a fence for the dogs!) but I have to personally check out boarding facilities before I bring my mare up there!
ANyhow, I have to go get dressed for work (1/2 day on Sundays)

Hey Belinda and Jackie, hello girls ! I say we give a nice Arky welcome to to Moonwalker but I agree we should wait until fall and the little bit cooler weather. Hello Everyone,,,yes those of us in Arkansas should have a get together!!! I live in Chester, its between Fort Smith and Fayetteville. Some Saturday for lunch,,and a lot of 'chicken talk'. Us girls can have a 'Hen Party",,

Conjrats on the move. We are getting ready to move to Arkansas also. Signed almost all of the papers. The new owners are taking my goats and chickens. I glad I don't have to worry about selling them. The only thing I have to worry about are moving the mules. I think I have that taken care of. Hope all goes well for you. Gena

There are TONS of great places to board horses up around Russellville. You won't have a problem at all!

I may just throw a big ol' barbecue this fall, then! We have lots of space for that kind of thing.
