If it makes you feel better Em (and remember, I'm not a teen. I'm in my very early 20's yet) if you named an old band, chances are I know who they are. I've never followed trends and styles. I just kinda forged my own path. When I started wear a lot of black there was no one I knew that did it and at the time I had no internet. I was face first in a book at all times. Still am. I was raised by two hippies and my dad never grew out of it.
As for the whole hairstyle thing, my hair stays black. I'm so blond it's almost silver, so it must stay black or some wacky color. Blood red was great. Turquoise, not so much. My hair was blonde when I dyed it and it turned green. I did not look good with green hair. Blue was fun, but only temporary. My hair hasn't been blue or green since I was....17? Red was this past year. The way my hair is cut is kinda funny though. It's all short in the back and really long in the front. I used to cut it all short, but I looked like a boy and learned my lesson.
Oh and EM, you can't be old. My dad is in his mid 50's. HE'S old.
