It's pretty disgusting...

I agree with you. I don't feed my hens meat or meat by product. They are free roaming so they do get an occasional frog, that seems to be a big treat to them

, but that is the only meat they have had. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it, just don't see it happening with my brood. I did have trouble when my hens started laying eggs, I had one that wouldn't go in the nesting box and she laid soft shell egg, so the others hens would pounce on the egg like vultures

. I would try to time it so I was out there to immediately get the egg.(Didn't want them to get use to eating them and leave me none) Some oyster shells in their feed and coaxing into the nest box solved that problem and I haven't had to share an egg with them since.

I find it interesting to see others views on it. When I first started with chickens I might have said ewww too, but now I know that they are nothing but feathered T-rexs and will eat just about anything. I know a girl, woman actually, in town that thought brown eggs meant they were spoiled. That they turn brown when they are "overripe".

2DogsFarm Leftovers like pork chops I have fed to my chickens. The christmas ham though I really shouldn't. The sodium content being so high in a cured piece of meat.

By the way, I never ever feed my dogs cooked chicken anymore. Raw chicken (or beef) they get every night with their kibble.
