These were supposedly "premium pullets" but it was Tractor Supply and I've heard the stories.
So, as they have gotten older some of them have had a little comb comin' out - and some chonky legs!
None of this necessarily means Cockerel, but maybe? First photo has our Sapphire Splash Cockerel for comparison. He is 5 weeks old.
The Sapphire Gem (dark grey chick) is the same age, 5 weeks old - named Lola (or perhaps, Luke?)
The cute red Starlight Green Egger is 4 weeks old and the comb is starting to show quite prominently compared to the same age ones I bought this one with and those legs on both of them, WOOO chonkers!!
This is Toffee -- a Starlight Green Egger supposedly premium pullet - and she might be, but her comb is larger than her sisters by a bit and they are the same age, HOWEVER, she is RED and they are NOT. They have very different genetics and are brown/wild coloring.
This third photo is Toffee (the Starlight Green Egger, 4 weeks old) next to our Easter Egger Pudding, who is 5 weeks old. Pudding looks very similar (but lighter) to Toffee's clutchmates. Toffee is gorgeous, but an outlier. She was chipmunk as a brand new chick, but liiight.
This is Lola - a "Sapphire Gem" who was very very light medium grey as a baby chick but has turned into a beauty. She is 5 weeks old - the tail tells me pullet but the legs and comb are saying Cockerel.
What do ya'll think? I love these guessing games!!
also; peep Pudding's Partridge genetics with her green sheen legs - her and her sister Custard both have these genes! They are gorgeous birds and we're tickled Hoover's somehow got old Partridge in there!
