Its time for me to build a coop !!!!!!!!!

painting it is…not.
AMEN
no mower is getting close enough to fix that.
But a weed eater does
now and then I want to give it a good clean out. Swiping water out the door to drain out a solid floor flood is also not fun
i have like five screw sized holes where I missed the studs LOL
help paint BEFORE
i have 2 people that are going to help all ready

Ooohhh I tell you, once you spend the time painting and waiting (between coats) then painting and waiting, you won’t let a week wacker (we call it whipper snipper in Aus) anywhere near that paint job!! Here’s me reading chickens eat weeds - well it turns out they don’t like the ones that grow near their house?!

I guess it depends on how moist the surrounding area gets (we are on heavy clay in a hot - and currently wet- Australian summer) but I see that paint as my insurance for having to build another coop for 10 years, so I do anything possible to protect it. I’ve destroyed wire fences with the wipper snipper so I’m guessing I would chew through 4 coats of special outdoor paint and ply with ease so I don’t allow myself near the coop with all its spinning plastic powers. If the coop was higher from the ground, I would try. But it’s too heavy to lift (like your floor x5 more surfaces with the roof and walls).

I'm carful because the the only thin i have destroyed are some plants that were in my garden, i have a large fence that I weed wacked and i did not hurt it but i guess a weed Wacker would take of paint but i don't plan on hitting my coop.

Hi, their folks I'm going to build a coop that is 8X8.We have 50 wood screws and a drill to start I'm going to start with the floor and work up.
I will get pictures when the floor is done and when the walls are done and stuff like that.
It's going to be a mostly wood coop with a metal roof. We will paint it in the spring to match our barn. Can't wait till it's done
I'm not exited to work on it but I am excited to have a good sturdy coop that is whether proof.

If any of you are interested
Excited to see it develop.
