If they are, they're not showing up in my searches. The only one I get is some big breeder in Indonesia that pops upThere should be at least a Dozen serious breeders of Gallus varius currently in the USA
There are several private aviaries that keep them in the US. Not the hardest bird to find if you know where to look. I don't know much about them but judging from the price compared to other hard to breed pheasant species id say they are difficult to breed for sure but definitly possible with the correct set up.I've heard that they simply wont breed in captivity. I've wanted those too for years. Might have to settle for buying feathers
They don't advertise as you expect any other breeder would. The only way to get stock to know someone that knows them and can vouch for them. They are close to Unobtanium, but they have been in the USA for a long time.If they are, they're not showing up in my searches. The only one I get is some big breeder in Indonesia that pops up
Not many of them advertise much. You won't find much from simple google searches. If they are, they're not showing up in my searches. The only one I get is some big breeder in Indonesia that pops up
I guess some experimenting is needed. Its one of the greatest unanswered mysteries left in genetics
indeedI guess some experimenting is needed.
Indeed, depending on the type of chicken the results will vary but all of them are impressive on their own, I am trying to make them breed true to type(not caring for their crow) Specially the Ayam Bekicem. The Bekisar is a very interesting cross.
I also like the Green JungleFowl, but getting some would be a struggle.
Maybe you could attempt breeding for both true breeding, & the unique crow? If you wanted.Indeed, depending on the type of chicken the results will vary but all of them are impressive on their own, I am trying to make them breed true to type(not caring for their crow) Specially the Ayam Bekicem.
