Can you find & monitor any Aussie or southern hemisphere threads on BYC? That’s one of the things I did in 2022 when I was up in the night managing pain! @MaryJanet had a thread and a sweet bunch of hens. Also @Ribh was active…I don’t have time to check in specifically with them these days.
:(

I check the barn cams, then FBA and BYC other threads, then the weather… then I watch about a bit of TV - stream something like Midsomer Murders…. After about 30 min my legs settle and I can try to sleep.

Last night they weren’t too bad, and everyone in the barn was doing well.

Check out these silkie chicks - they are hop/flap/flying up on the ledges and roosting with Whiskers during the day. I am afraid to try them roosting there at night, the others get rough shoving and climbing all over, they would get knocked off.

Spotty - I kept trying to remove the dirt on him much to his dislike! But those dirt spots just wouldn’t become clean. Put my glasses on and they are brown feathers!
He’s a boy for sure.😞

Set Back
Well I thought I had lost Niamh overnight. Joy would not leave her side this morning in the coop, even with the door open and Niamh was laying under the hanging feeder not moving at one point.

She is back in the house. Walking around but not eating. She is now on Baytril. I'm not taking any chances at this point.

If she doesn't eat in the next hour or so she is getting nutridrench directly.
:hugs :fl:hugs:fl:hugs:fl

Oh my gosh, oh I sure hope she rallies around with the Baytril. I am thinking very good thoughts for her and for you.

I will check in later on and see how it’s going.

So many of our feathered friends are not well this years I can’t help but think the stress from the crazy weather has something to do with it. It’s hard on a body with all the rapid changes, cattle here are unwell also.

Big hugs for Niamh and you

:hugs
