I've been EXPOSED!!!!

mom'sfolly :

'Tis the season. The kids and grandma had that one over Christmas. Our most recent one was the headache/4-day fever virus.

Don't you just wish people would leave their sorry butts at home in bed when they are sick instead of coming to work to share stuff around? That goes for all you parents out there who send your kid to school sick. If they have a fever or throw up, for God's sake kept the little darlings at home. We don't need their pestiferous little germs coming to our homes.

Hope you manage to dodge it.

That includes church too!! My 4 yo got croup a year and half ago and almost died!!!!! Two other families children had croup and were kind enough to bring them to church!!

After they found out how sick my DD got they took their kiddos to the doctor for treatment. It just hit my DD worse than theirs because their children were used to having snot faces and coughs all the time!! My DD had never been sick before!

I hope you don't catch the stomach flu!

well I guess it's going to be coming at us here from both sides.
I was IMing with dh earlier and he said that one of his guys, who was out yesterday, showed up today and made a comment about "Immodium not helping at all. "

Not good. Last time dh didnt get it either. I was woken up at 2am with heaves and ended up sleeping in the bathroom since I was too weak to make it back and forth from the couch every three minutes.

Flu shot wont work on this. Since its a gastro intestinal thing. Not the flu. Which we have had here

My family had the norovirus a year ago.

The wife and two girls had it first... I was running around on bucket brigade and then I got it.

I hadn't been nauseous sick for years before that, and man did it do a number on my and my intestines. My insides were a mess for weeks and weeks.

I hope you guys don't get sick!!

At work, we all have noticed, this last week - everyone that comes in (to the hospital) is really, really sick. Pneumonia, bronchitis, RSV, explosive diarrhea....
There were 4 people in the ER at the same time with bloody diarrhea this last week-end. And the wait time, which is normally 30-40min., is running about 3-4 hours, with every bed full. Today they had to put chest pain pts in the hallway.
Peds is full of sick, sick kids. Lots of babies with RSV and pneumonia.
Almost every ER pt is admitted, so the floor is full too!

My feet hurt and this is day 2 of a 10 day stretch.

lessn than2 weeks ago my grandaughter had the Noro Virus find her too, being diabetic and weakend immune system she had to be Med Flighted out of one ER to another Hospital and spent 2 days in the Pedi ICU,scarey scarey time for both of us.

This Sunday past she wound up back at the same ER with a temp of 104.6, 2 hours of IV fluids and rushed fever reducing. I feared we were again heading for another Med Flight. Thankfully they got the fever down and she is better, cause? some darned pesky virus, starts with a sore throat and then explodes into the fever from hockey sticks/
Called her school to let them know she wouldnt be in for 3 days only to find out there was 42 children also absent that day! same virus.

well at least 41 other parents had brains enough to keep their kids home.

My daughters school principle has scared the parents into sending them in sick.

At the beginning of the year we got a letter stating "send them even if they are sick" And parents do.

But then we got another letter sent home the beginning of Feb stating "send them or we will get the courts involved"

So what do we think is going to happen? Kids with the flu, bad colds etc are going to be sent to school because parents are going to be scared to keep them home for fear of CPS showing up on their door steps.

I understand the need for kids to learn. But parents have to be responsible as well. I am tired of having my kid be sick. I am tired of being sick. But with the principle and the school super basically threatening families I cant see the sick kids being kept home

My school's written policy is "24 hours fever free, 24 hours without vomiting". Rhett, may your principal get every darn plague the kids are carrying.

My youngest has been out of school three weeks running. Week 1, out two days for coughing, sneezing and asthma, week 2, out Friday with fever virus; week three, out Monday with the same fever virus.

All Y'all just stay home!!!!!!!

Teachers must have amazing immune systems. Someone should study them, do antibody assays and then make universal vaccines from their blood.
