I've Done It!

I'm not 100% sure at the moment. Around 45 -- but two for sure and possibly another are moving out to a new home tonight (11 went up for sale on Craigslist yesterday).
I feel im going through just as much feed for 25 birds lol but was apparently feeding a rat a very picky one as it kicked all my pellets out to get to the mash now im stuck closing that coop up until it either moves or something eat it lol

On your way. Once you start hatching those cute littles yourself it just seems to get additive, and one thing leads to another :lau

Those were my thoughts at one time also, but just prior to Thanksgiving and Holiday sales of my turkeys I was going through #50 lbs. plus every day. Just down to breeding stock now so much more manageable, but after this storm front moves through and refreezes things up am going to be separating into breeding groups to start all over again. But I do sell poults in spring and dressed and smoked birds throughout year.

Speaking of turkeys, part of my Amazon order was Storey's book on turkeys. We'd thought about ducks but can't work out the water issue in a way that suits our needs.

@3KillerBs I raise heritage turkeys they are very hearty and live long natural lives unlike Broad Breasted. Depends on what you want them for Broad Breasted are fast growing meat birds but can have many different health issues and are meant to process at a young age. Heritage turkeys live long natural lives can fly and breed on their own. And love to free range and sleep under the stars rather than in a coop, but can be pen/coop raised just need a lot more space than chickens.

It's sitting on my kitchen table running quietly to make sure it works. :)

After testing I'll repackage it until late next month so as to time my first hatch for the onset of spring weather.
