I was just talking to my BF about that. He said he'd go pay the fee to get him back, so we can give him to jbowyer01. Unfortunately, there's more to it than that. The pound has informed me that they are currently under quarantine, I didn't ask why. No one can reclaim/adopt a dog until the quarantine is lifted. Oops.

at our local pound, every dog goes under quarantine and the owners are notified by phone or mail. they are charged $25 a day for the wait and another $25 for each day until after that to come claim them. also a ticket for dog at large, $75. they are closed on sundays and still charge.

we had to do this with a neighbor dog that kept running the streets and coming to our house. i didn't lie, make up stories etc. i just told them what happened. it worked like a charm. the dog stays in his own yard now.

That is just sad that you have not met a little dog that was nice. I have 3 Chihuahua's and I will tell you before Chihuahua's I bred and raised blue and black great danes. All my dogs are trained and I keep training them their whole life.

I know that all dogs need rules, regulations, and discipline just like all kids. It doesn't matter the size.

I really think it is a shame that you have not met a nice small dog. Makes me sick to my stomach.

I socialize small dogs for breeders and most people who come here can not believe how well behaved and friendly my chihuahua's are. It takes alot of work to make any dog live up to their potential but it is worth the work.

I know my doxies can be a hand full though they are very loving. I have had large breeds and loved them as well, and yes my doxie's can smell up a room as fast as (if not faster) than a large dog. Doxies were originally breed for badger hunting so that tells you how aggressive they actually can be. You have to have consistant rules for behavior and a consistant schedule. I know my doxies would fight to their death to protect me if needed, heck they dont even like for my DH to get a kiss. Just let me know if that pup returns we'll see if we can work something out. You did do the right thing for both the safety of other animals and for the dog. I hate people who neglect their animals and thats what this was a case of.
