I've had it with the plastic feed bags

I just use a pail to fill the feeders since I cannot lift the 50 lb bags. I open the bag, fill the pail, dump the pail in the feeder. I also re use the bags to make shopping bags. By the way, the feed stores around me still have feed in paper bags too, it just depends on what brand of feed you want to buy.

We have fifty five gallon barrels in each coop so we fill up the barrels using four or five bags and then just scoop out what we need. It's a lot of work to fill the barrels but we're hoping to get to a co-op one of these days that will fill the barrels for us.

This is a good idea, I have been wanting to make my own potato grow bags!

Still, it won't use nearly all the bags, but wow, thanks for the idea!

Any specific directions on using them for "grow bags"?

I still don't know where I got it from, might have been the BYC sister site www.SufficientSelf.com

But the concept was to roll/fold down the top edge, poke holes in the bottom for drainage and fill with soil.

I make grocery totes out of them, people here in the Bay Area LOVE them!

If you have extra (clean) bags laying around- send them to me!!!
