I've never seen anything like this!!!😲😲

Hey guys, I just had to share this because this is so cool!! One of my easter egger chicks just started laying, and a few days egg she layed this monster egg. It's about 1nch wide and 2inches long, it looks more like a potato than an egg:) Well today we cracked it open thinking there might be three or four yolks, but guess what? She layed an egg inside an egg!! Two yolks in all, one inside the small egg and one inside the large shell carrying the small egg. I've never seen anything like this, have you? Pics below

I've never seen anything like it in my life!!!
My chickens will occasionally lay eggs with two yolks in them, but not eggs with eggs inside of them! 😲

This is interesting! According to the article they are associated with thunderstorms and we've had some bad weather recently.

We had such a bad thunderstorm recently that i thought my pink ladies (that's what i call my crew) was going to die from shock it came on super suddenly and was SO loud.

It did put them off of laying for a couple days as well. very interesting article.

Update:

Since this post, my hen has layed 4 more eggs like this!!! I have determined that she has and egg laying defect because she rarely lays a normal egg or any egg at all.

I have limited space in my flock, so I think the most wise choice would be to find her another home.😢😢 Do you think anybody would want her?
Poor baby. If she laid 4 more eggs like that, there must be something wrong with her egg production system. I think she'll find the perfect home at some point. ❤️

She may be lowest in the pecking order .Got any pictures of her?
She is the hen we suspect. Of course I will confirm that before I find her a new home.

(I know this is an old post)
This is extraudinary to see, unbelievable-!
but honestly I wouldnt find it cool if my girls laid something like this, I'd be pretty sad! That would've been a painful one to lay.

Why do you need to find her a new home? If she has laying problems, I wouldn’t give her away to someone else to become their problem, unless you tell them first what to expect from her. Are your chickens being raised strictly for egg production, or are they pets?
They are for egg production. Of course I love my hens, but feeding a hen who doesn't produce eggs just doesn't make sense for me. I would be up front about her laying problems. I'm just wondering if anybody would even want to take a hen who doesn't lay.
