UPDATE: Day 125

Hey everyone! I haven't posted an update in a while...But Ivory is doing OK still. I found out that he really doesn't like the rain that much.
roll.png
It has been wet and nasty here lately and he has been less talkative and not like his hyper, normal self lately.
hu.gif

Also, poor Ivory isn't feeling that well tonight for some reason.
sad.png
He's either very tired, or something else...Which I really can't even think about, otherwise I get really worried.
sad.png
Tonight he's sitting on his roost as usual, but he's very tired and not very talkative at all. He doesn't like to eat much anymore, even when his crop is almost empty. He only took a couple nibbles of the cooked egg I offered him tonight, and wouldn't even take a bite of the feed he's been eating lately, which is still chick starter/grower. I decided to just keep feeding him it because he's sharing his coop with 3 baby chicks and a mother hen, so they can all eat the same food, right? I've been wanting to get him some cracked corn lately...I be he would like it!
smile.png

Also, I noticed that his comb is bright red (which is good) but the tips are slightly purple.
hmm.png
And I don't think it's even close to being cold enough for him to get frost bite, even at night.
I hope he's OK...He can drink and eat fine, and can walk around normally and likes to forage around in his run...Just tonight he seems so tired.

Sorry, I don't have any pictures for today.

Check back for more updates!

UPDATE: Day 132
Hey everyone!
frow.gif
Today is my last day for the Summer of being on BYC as much as I am because everyone in my school needs to turn in their laptops for the year...So here are some last pictures of Ivory from the webcam! Hope you enjoy them!
wee.gif

As you can see, Ivory has been adjusting to his own flock of one Bantam hen and three young chicks very well...He used to be scared of them, but I think he likes them now.
love.gif
In this picture, he was sun bathing and a couple of the 3-4 week old chicks came over and snuggled up next to him. One layed snuggled near his leg, and the other was hiding under her wing.
tongue.png
It was the most adorable thing ever and he didn't even mind!

(sorry about the glare from the sun.

)

There are many things Ivory will be doing this Summer and I will try my best to keep you updated whenever I can get a chance to visit.
smile.png
He will be doing things like helping with decorating his new coop (I still need to paint it!
lol.png
), watching the three younger chicks grow up so the ones who are hens (hoping they all are!
fl.gif
) will be his permanent flock members, etc. This will be his first Summer ever and I think he's really gonna enjoy it! Such a spoiled little rooster.

Well, that's all for now! Thanks for reading!

Hey everyone!!!

ya.gif

Wow, it seems like forever since I posted on this thread.
th.gif
The whole summer has gone by, and it's already the first day of Fall. Hard to believe it!
th.gif

What's even more hard to believe...is Ivory has grown SO much bigger and changed so much!
clap.gif
There's lots to catch you all up on him. He's all grown up! (Well, for the most part, anyway
roll.png
)

First of all, Ivory is exactly 237 days old! Which is about...33.8 weeks, or 7 (almost 8) months!
woot.gif
He has gotten bigger, and he has definitely become more "rooster-like"...He will try to mount my hand if I put it near him, and he will sometimes dance around my feet when I first let him out in the morning, etc.
lol.png
But overall, he's not aggressive and he's still the same old sweet rooster who follows me everywhere, loves treats, and loves to forage with his flock.
smile.png

BUT, as of right now he NEVER crows and he has never mounted any of his pullets. He still lives with the three young EE pullets, who are about 3 months old now and getting ready to lay soon. And Pumpkin, the small Bantam Cochin hen, is still with them.
smile.png

But that's right, he has never mounted them. Granted, they are still kinda small. And yes, he hasn't crowed since before he got sick.
hmm.png
Before he had gotten sick, he did start crowing, but after he got sick he never crowed again. He never does right now. It's weird. I'm kinda sad, because I love hearing rooster's crowing in the morning, and it would be such a wonderful thing to hear him greet me every morning.
smile.png
But, I guess he just doesn't have any urge to crow. He never tries, either.
hu.gif

But anyway, he's doing great, and so are his flock members!
smile.png

Here is one picture I have so far! I will hopefully add more later!

He has grown into a very handsome rooster!
big_smile.png

He says thank you!
big_smile.png
And yes, I must agree he has!
thumbsup.gif
Even if he may not be the manliest rooster out there, he's still a very handsome and sweet rooster!

Mrs. Fluffy Puffy :

What breed/mix is he again?
hmm.png

Buff Orpington and Splash Cochin (both standard).
smile.png

This picture is a little old, but his father is the rooster in the middle (Foghorn) and his mother is the one on the left (Caramel). Unfortunately she died soon after he hatched.
