JAN 28th HATCH!!! Who's with me?!?

I put my eggs in the incubator the night of the 8th. I am not sure if I start counting on that night as one or the 9th as one, but mine should hatch about the same time as y'alls. I have tried once before and due to some problems, none hatched. Yes, I admit, I cried. One was a Cochin that was almost fully formed. I am counting days and trying to learn. We learned a little about candling the last attempt. I am so addicted to my chicks. I started with one rooster a friend gave me. Now, I have 23 hens and 6 roosters of various breeds. People laugh when I tell them my chicks all have personalities. But, they do and I love each one. Learning as I go. Thank you to each person that posts on here. This site is one of my major sources of information.

I put all my buttons that are hatching in a a Tea Box that I cut the top off of, I don't want them to get squished when they hatch.

I heard all of them but two pecking and chirping. So 12/10 - not bad.

Hopeing the other two eggs that I didn't hear anything in are still good!

I forgot to mention, we have a 5th egg that has pipped!! Finally one of the eggs(the BG egg) in Group 1 has pipped!! I hope to wake up to at least 4 more chicks drying anf luffing in the incubator!

) is an Easter Egger/ Black Giant cross! the first born of our first rooster. He (Cogburn) was sold to a farm in RI earlier this week. The mother of this chick is a black, & gold-ish brown... LOVE when two different blacks make a nice silvery grey!! [you can see it on the wings of the chick]​

OMG I love all the pips and pics!!! CONGRATS!!! I really need to do an update.. I candled and set a few more for the CNY hatch and I'm not too happy with the results... I have someone coming to pick up my old homemade bator so I will post an update after that and get all the NB's on the list with us! So much to do!!
