Finaly broke down last night and candled my eggs. I would not have believed that I could see into the maran eggs, but by holding the light at the top of the egg I was able to see the air sack and if there was a mass below it.
Results:
Marans, started with 25 had 6 that had no growth, unsure about 5, 19 that looked really good.
EEs, started with 8 (4 fresh and 4 from the fridge) all 8 seem to look good. Although 1 was REALLY hard to see into.
BOs, started with 7, had 2 with no growth and the other 5 looked really good.
So started with 40 now have 32. I hope to get a really good hatch this time.
On another topic I have several hens that are trying to go broody on me. I am planning tonight to give one of them 12 eggs that are CCMaran over Bardrock crosses. And on thursday plan on putting a second hen on 12 more maran eggs.
