Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

JDchicks, you will enjoy hatching Quail! They are very active and very fast! As soon as you open the lid to the incubator they will try to jump out and go everywhere! They are very very active little birds!

I find nature fascinating because predator babies are born eyes closed and help less, why prey babies can walk around and run with eyes open alert and ready.

When I did the full candle at 10 days I ejected one egg that was a quitter and put a ? on another that I wasn't sure about, checked it tonight and it was a quitter, tossed that one too... Down to 21......

Lol, yes, yall got the news before him. Still trying to figure out how to tell him. He's out of town till friday and I feel like that's something he should get to hear in person. He's stepdad to my boys, so this will be his first. I'm nervous to see his reaction, but excited at the same time. I really hope he's happy with the news. :)
When it's closer, we could have a baby hatch-a-long.

I am finally seeing a bulls eye in my chickens eggs at least in 3 hens

eggs and I will toss in a couple more eggs from
and an EE I have on Thurs. collection time begins...
wish daddy good luck!!!!

I am on days 14 and 12 on 3 diff. batches. but the eggs (chicks) above are the ones I really wanted. I do have friends waiting on my current hatches.

Yes, we are looking forward to hatching quail. I think my hubby more than me. I am thinking of a nice pen to hold a couple dozen or so. And he is drawing up plans to hold 100+ and increasing my coop condos for when I get some Bredas. Boy, I love him!
