Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

Is it possible for you to get some better pics of them close up?
They are fast and I have tried to hold them both but then I don't have a hand left to take the picture. You can see the size difference. The little one hasn't changed since about 2-3 week. No new feathers. It cheaps a lot just like my silkie that is extra small. It's always trying to get under the others to stay warm. I don't have anyone else her size to seperate her. I don't want her alone.

If only it was this easy to get kids to take their vitamins. Max loves his gummies.

started getting more eggs this last week....thinking it's got to be my silkie....eggs are in the floor
so we are having a great time!!!

That is so darn cute! I got a chuckle this morning..needed that. Have you shared this on a turkey thread? They would love it!

I love having broodies. There is nothing better than seeing mama raise her babies naturally. During 2013 I got 5 broodies. 1 LF Cochin went broody twice, a SilkieXee went broody twice and a BCM went broody once. I love taking pics of them. Sometimes having a broody isn't too fun especially when you don't want the chicks at that moment but it alsways works out. I expect to have quite a few broodies this year and cant wait til spring.
Here are a few of my Mamas with their babies
SL Cochin named Cochin

BCM named Angel

SilkieXee named Ziggy
Cute, I have a SLW pullet, should start laying hopefully next month, and I have a dog named Ziggy. :))

Lovely mamas!!

I have 4 silkie x ee chicks about 9wks, they are 100% silkie feathered! I thought they would be smooth feathered..

I am wondering, did yours have silkie feathers as a chick too? did she grow into smooth feathers later on?

I think I have 2 of 4 silkie x ee Roos, hoping for a good mother..

PS - delayed my eggs shipment cause of the winter weather - going out this coming monday! setting eggs in 1 week - ish

I have eggs due next Wendsday.Small air cells again......................

Cannot figure it out......2 hygrometers, calibrated...have been trying for around 30/35.
Had a couple drops to 20's Maybe I need to check the humidity in the house ????????????
I think I need to not add water but it makes me real nervous....
Feedback please.................

I set 42 but many of these were just on the counter and had not been turned or otherwise given the usual egg care..........
Don't expect much from these. Also set shipped Silkie eggs 15..........They were caught in holiday shipping and only a few
have made it............
