Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

That is the hardest week. And then at lock down I am stuck to the glass. Lol. I just love this hatching thing. Haven't had a broody yet though. Three years and no broody. Lir's
What kind of chickens do you have? I had a Light Brahma that trieda little after she laid her first few eggs. I have 1 Large Fowl Cochin and 4 Silkies just iin the hopes they'll be better hatchers than me.

Putting some German New Hampshire's in the bator tomorrow!!! Got it warming up...woohooo, everyone thinks I am a freak but hey, I just cant wait for a broody

I;m the same, I can't wait.

I'm still new to this site but I just have to tell you that I LOVE your Max pictures and stories. He is some radiant humble turkey! =)
Max is so funny. I don't even get pictures of the funniest stuff. I've been teaching him to use the doggie door. He dove thru it last time. So funny. He ate most of my dinner tonight. Pork chops and mashed potatoes. He is so much fun to have as a pet.

I I have some of my rir and some that are a surprise cause I picked it up at a friend's farm. The ones shipped are some frizzel and the other are a surprise as well. Lol

I love having broodies. There is nothing better than seeing mama raise her babies naturally. During 2013 I got 5 broodies. 1 LF Cochin went broody twice, a SilkieXee went broody twice and a BCM went broody once. I love taking pics of them. Sometimes having a broody isn't too fun especially when you don't want the chicks at that moment but it alsways works out. I expect to have quite a few broodies this year and cant wait til spring.
Here are a few of my Mamas with their babies
SL Cochin named Cochin

BCM named Angel

SilkieXee named Ziggy

These are 2 Marans I got in the mail. Picture is fuzzy but you can see the size difference. I have asked 3 times on the Marans thread. As usual, my questions have been ignored. Have any of you ever had this much of a size difference with any breed? I have had runts and slow growers but never with this much difference. I would have thought Maybe a bantam was put in by accident but it was the same size when it was a chick and I don't think GF has any bantams.

Is it possible for you to get some better pics of them close up?
