Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

[Whoops]

Technically, it won't be day 21 until late this evening for me. I am very impatiently waiting. Hopefully, there will be many baby chick pipping pictures to help tide me over until my stubborn little very egglike eggs start doing something.

I read several people have frozen eggs. I think my hens have slowed laying because the new nesting boxes are metal and get cold. I was thinking of hanging a brooder light above them. Has any one tried that? The hens may never get out of the boxes.

I was a little worried about this one because there was a tiny blood spot on his pip, but he seems to be doing fine now.

These 2 hatched this morning, 4 days late after lising power at least 4 times & getting down to about 55F at least 1 of those times.

Awwww!! They are so cute!!! What kind are they?

You lost power too? I woke up yesterday to the power off. Not sure how long it had been off. I looked into the bator to see the first pipped egg. :/ But luckily, the power came back on just 20 mins. later. Like I said, not sure how long it had been off though.

Those chick are a pretty coloring!
